Hard work, commitment, and a great belief that if you put your mind to it anything is possible is what motivates Haynes Group’s team, and a team member from Mackay is living that philosophy both in and out of work.

Haynes Group’s Megan Moa said that she took the dedication and commitment she applies at work and used to push her physical limits.

“Away from the office I’m a development coach and am part of the local Tri-actiV8 triathlon group where we get people to believe in themselves to achieve great things,” Megan said.

“My training regime will differ depending on what I’m training for, but typically each week I’d probably do around three swims, a couple of 60-100 kilometre bike rides, and three, 10 kilometre runs.

“Like Haynes, Tri-actV8 brings together a group of amazing people who are committed to supporting each other to achieve incredible personal triumphs.”

Well aligned with Haynes’ key value to ensure there are always moments to have fun, Megan said that locally, Haynes was always looking for moments where we can come together and support each other.

“In 2016, Haynes supported three corporate triathlon teams to participate in the Mackay Triathlon Festival, with each team including a swimmer, cyclist and runner.

“It was a windy day with difficult conditions but all three teams completed the event, and all three teams came out smiling and proud of their accomplishments in true Haynes fashion.

“With the 2017 event almost here again, our Haynes teams will once again be looking forward to hitting the pavement and water.”

Haynes Group also sponsored a team of eight riders in the local River to Reef bike ride in 2016, where the Haynes crew opted to ride in both the 60 kilometre and 90 kilometre events.

Megan herself is also training for a full ironman event this December in Bussellton, Western Australia – an amazing effort and amazing personal achievement.
